It's kinda late in summer to be making this joke, but I drew this a pretty long while ago when there were still a lot of gnats out.

Dear GOD! How is August over?! Summer is dying! AAAAAGH! SAVE US!!

Hey guys! Sorry for the wait! But I'm back now, so everything's okay.

As it turns out, the Pete of "for Pete's sake" is not an actual person. "For Pete's sake" is just a milder substitute for "for Christ's sake." The more you know, right?

I really like how microchips look. A long time ago, my family took apart an old stereo speaker in our house. The chips inside that thing looked really cool. I still have some of them in a bin. Why I'm telling you any of this, I'm not sure.

The idea with the colors in the strip was to make every background what I call a "split gradient," which is where I use four or five colors to transition form one color to another. I'd never done an entire strip with that technique before, so I decided to try it. I think it looks kinda cool.

Hey guys! Unfortunately, I won't be able to post for the next week. Sorry. But the moment I can, I'll get right back into posting!

This is very true. I've had tons of fun experiences that were ruined by something going wrong at the end. But I don't think the saying "All's bad that ends bad" is going to be catching on any time soon.

Uh-oh. Cheesy joke alert. Jeez, dude.

I think rock gardens are pretty cool. I don't know very much about the whole "zen" side of it, but they're nice to look at.

Hey guys! I am currently hailing from the lovely state of Maine. Man, I love it here.

I doubt you could just waltz into a pharmacy and ask for stomachache meds, but I don't care. This is a strip centered around a talking popsicle. I'm not too concerned about realism.

I drew this when I really wanted to see an episode of a show when it aired, but couldn't. I definitely don't feel as strong about this as Billy does, but it gave me a good idea for a strip.

Also, "Space Blasters" sounds like a pretty good show. I'd watch that.

I like poking fun at the fact that Billy is a popsicle, but not too much. I think of Billy as a regular human being that just so happens to be a pop. If I made fun of his pop-ness too often, it would sort of separate him from that description.

This is basically my philosophy for all work.

Not really. I wouldn't get any work done if it was.

. . . Okay, some work.

Some people seem to think it's weird that Billy eats ice cream. Admittedly, it does seem like it's cannibalism. My response to this is that Billy is a popsicle. Ice cream and popsicles are two different things. Therefore, he is not a cannibal. So. . . yeah.

For this strip, I tried to make all the shadows solid black, instead of hatching like I usually do. Having large areas of black makes the strip look fuller. Even though I didn't draw any backgrounds for this one, it still looks fairly detailed, at least to me.

Thinking about it now, I should have made the stack of items in the second panel even taller, so as to really emphasize the joke. But whatever.
