You are one pretty cool dude if you can comment which one it was named after.

And just like that, the first month of the year is over. Time flies, huh?

This one could have been funnier. I knew what the main idea of the strip was and what the punch line would be, but I left all the other panels up to my improvisation. So it's a little obscure and the transitions are kind of off. Oh well.

In case it wasn't obvious, the background colors of this strip go from purple to red, rainbow style. I like doing "color concepts" like that, where the colors are based on a certain theme. An example is this strip, in which the colors are based on various fruits.

Since this kind of strip structure usually ends with Billy ruining the beauty of whatever Harley is marveling at, I thought it would be funny if Billy wasn't there at all.

This strip was drawn in a river-house. Just a fun fact.

I didn't make any new year's resolutions. As far as I'm concerned, you should make resolutions whether or not it's the new year. Billy sure doesn't see it that way, though.

I was just thinking about this whole mess one day and a strip came out of it. That's pretty much how most of these strips come about -- I just take whatever topic I happen to be thinking about and convert it into strip form.

This strip showcases what for me is a key feature of Billy's character. Billy doesn't just hate being outside; he hates doing whatever Harley tells him to do. It's not a very complex character, but it's the source for most, if humor in the strip.

Also, fun fact: Harley's passion is gardening. He does it a lot throughout the strip, as you may see if you look back to older Billies.

This one was an easy one to color, which makes it a good strip in my book. I don't like coloring very much.

Which superhero is your favorite? Mine as got to be Waffle Woman, because of her sidekick.

I like how the sky turned out in the second panel. I think that's how I'll draw dreary days from now on.

I think we were learning about journalism in school when I wrote this, so that's pretty much what sparked the idea. Obviously, I'm not a journalist, so I'm in no position to comment on it, but I use that to the advantage of Billy's character, because he clearly doesn't know any more about it than I do.

This one was a lot better in my head. You see, the way I write these strips is about half-improvisational. I get the main idea of a strip and most of the details in my head, but a lot of the small word-changes happen while I'm drawing it. This can be good most of the time, but it starts to be a problem when I haven't worked the joke out in my head enough. When that happens, I'm sort of just stumbling around while I'm drawing, trying to make it work, and it usually turns out less-than-satisfactory. But anyway, I hope you don't mind this one so much.

Happy New Year, everyone! Billy the Pop is now two years old! May this be another great year for Billy and the gang! And also for all of you, too.

Looking at it now, the subject matter of this strip is perfect for New Year's Day. That wasn't intended, but it works very well.
Also, I think "Minty Man" brand toothpaste would be quite funny to see in real life.
