This one was awesome to color. And I definitely still had Arizona on my mind in the fifth panel from our recent vacation.

How is it the end of May already?? School's going to end soon! AAAAAAAAAAAGGHH

Many strips, like this one, came about from some random idea that I had. For whatever reason, I wanted to draw a strip where the lights keep turning on and off, so I built the joke around that concept. Don't ask me why I had this idea, let alone why I decided to pursue it, but that's a pretty frequent creative process in this comic. In this case, I don't think the joke ended up that funny, but eh.

During the time I wrote this, my family was watching a lot of cooking shows for whatever reason. I don't really like cooking shows, mostly because I don't find food that interesting. I don't really feel like Billy does about it, but I'm definitely not enthusiastic about it.

Thinking about it now, there probably is some sort of technology inspired by snails. I'd have no idea what it is, but I'm sure it exists.

The stopwatch in these "Billy mentor" strips is modeled after a green stopwatch I had as a kid. I played around with it a lot. I remember one time I timed how long it took to drive to our grandparents' house. Why I remember that of all things, I have no idea.

There's a similar joke to this in a Pearls Before Swine strip. Rat is working as a waiter and a couple asks how much they should pay as a tip. He says a good rule of thumb is to take the price of your meal and move the decimal point one place to the right. I wasn't thinking of that when I wrote this strip, but it sorta came out looking like it.

Actually movie theaters are never that bad. Except when there's some little kid in there who keeps asking his parents what's going on.

I remember one time at the Silver Diner when I was younger I stacked up some of the various items on the table. I put a bunch of crayons and silverware on it and it ended up as some weird suspension-bridge-looking structure. I bet whoever cleaned our table afterwards got a kick out of that.

I dunno about this joke, but it was fun to draw the second panel.

I came up with this joke while I was learning human figure drawing in art class. This one's kind of ironic, because, well, if you look at any of my cartoon people you can tell that I'm no master of figure drawing. But I think that makes it funnier.

Same here, Harley. Except instead of just lying down, I'd like to just play Zelda all day.

I really like how the background in the first and third panels turned out. It has a nice feng shui to it.

There's a lot wrong with this one. First, it's not even winter anymore (I draw these a couple months before I post them). Second, I really botched that second panel. It looks terrible. Agh. But hey, at least there's. . . um. . .

May 5th, 2016

Hey everybody! REALLY sorry about the 4-day gap between strips. I've had some things I've needed to do (cough cough, schoolwork) and I couldn't get around to posting. But I'll get back into the groove starting today!

Oh, Billy and his business plans. Although that slogan is pretty all right.

I think this is the first "Sunday" strip I've actually posted on a Sunday! Well how about that.

This one was really easy to draw and really easy to color, which makes it a good one in my book.
