This definitely applies to me. It's really hard for me to motivate myself to do work when there's so many YouTube videos I could be watching.

I like the joke for this one, but the pacing was kind of off. Oh well, live and learn.
Hey guys! Today, I'm happy to announce the first-ever Billy the Pop fan art! This was made by my friend Evan, who is awesome. Check it out:
This is a milestone in the history of Billy, so thank you, Evan. You guys should check out his tumblr: http://curse-this-old-gem-tech.tumblr.com

This one made a lot of sense in my head, but I'm not quite sure if it translated well on paper. All I can say is I hope you get the joke.

Hey guys, sorry about no post two days ago.
Like the last post, this one's subject matter was influenced by Arizona. Clearly I couldn't get those amazing landscapes out of my head.

This one was drawn shortly after a road trip through Arizona. I really loved seeing the huge, empty landscapes and all the yellow and red rocks. In the first panel, there's a cactus and a picture of a canyon, which is sort of me channeling the whole experience.
I don't really know how stereotypical cowboys talk, so I completely had to wing the writing in this one. It's not too convincing, but it's okay.
The colors in this one are very yellowed, like in an old western film. Also, I really liked drawing those fancy letters in the first and last panels.

And here's where things started getting really challenging to draw. Have you ever tried to fit two characters, rain, wind, a falling tree, a broken house made of sticks, and a word bubble within 4 square inches of space? Because it's hard.
As big of a pain as it was, I think this storyline turned out to be one of the most visually pleasing ones I've ever made. So the effort paid off!

This is about where things started getting tedious to draw. I know the rain here is just vertical lines, but it takes forever to fill a panel with those. The final panel was pretty tricky to figure out, too. I needed to show that they were in a stick-house, but also that rain was leaking through. So I decided to make the sticks only silhouettes, and show the rain with negative space. That was a lot to cram into one panel.

For those just tuning in to the story: Billy is dragging Pete out into the forest to live out in the wilderness for one night. Things are starting to go wrong, however.
A house made out of sticks like in the first panel is surprisingly hard to draw. In fact, this entire storyline was hard to draw, mostly because of the rain in the next few strips.
I kinda like how the background looks in panel three, by the way.

Hey everyone! Did any of you fall for the April Fool's joke two days ago? I hope no one did. But if you fell for it, today's strip won't make any sense, so you should probably go back to the last post and scroll down.
For those just tuning in, Billy is taking Pete out into the wilderness to camp out for one night with nothing but their wit. But things are going to go very wrong. . .

Hey everyone. Sorry for doing this without warning, but I'm going to be featuring my brother's new comic strip, "Fat Willy," for the next month. Here's a picture of Willy himself:
Hope you enjoy the strip! Billy will be back next month!
